Lesson payment

Upon completion of a free trial class, lesson fees are payable weekly for the first month. After this time fees will be taken by direct debit on a monthly basis. The cost of lessons is split over 12 months accounting for DNA Dance Studios set holidays and bank holiday Monday’s.

The year will run from September to July.

Fees are not deductible for absence but you may make up the lesson on a different day if the class has a duplicate.

Pupils not attending for 4 consecutive weeks without notifying the staff will be deleted from the register. If they wish to rejoin, they must do so in the usual way.

Parent information

Upon joining the school you will be prompted via email to join the ‘parent portal’. This has all the information about the classes that your child is enrolled in and will allow you to fill out all of the relevant information we will need for your child to commence their classes with us.

Parents are permitted to watch the first lesson to allow their child to settle in. After the first lesson parents may wait in the waiting rooms downstairs or come back at the end of their child’s lesson to collect them.

Children under 10 should not be left in the changing and waiting areas unsupervised as supervision is not provided in these areas.

Valuables are left in the changing rooms at your own risk and DNA Dance Studios do not accept responsibility for any lost or damaged items.

Uniform

Our set uniform is compulsory in all classes and this includes the correct presentation of hair. It is required for classes and exams and is an important part of dance training.

Pupils may attend the first 4 weeks of lessons without uniform.

Uniform varies for different classes so please refer to your uniform lists and if you have any questions please just ask.

All uniform can be purchased from our dance wear shop or our website.

Physical contact

Physical contact in a dance class is sometimes required to correct the posture or position of a student. Teaching dance is a physical activity and a teacher will sometimes need to make physical contact with a student to show an idea or to correct the student’s position.

Physical contact from a teacher is essential in Acrobatic Arts classes to be able to spot your child when learning new skills.

Exams & Shows

Our pupils take IDTA exams in core subjects. Children will be entered for their exam once the required technique level has been met and the teacher feels they will be able to achieve the highest mark available to them. This decision will be made by their class teacher. Approximately 1 week before their exam takes place your child will need to attend an exam practice session so they can be fully prepared for their exam.

Children are given the opportunity to perform in a Christmas show every year and an Easter show every 2 years giving you the opportunity to see what they have been working on in class.

Parking at DNA Dance Studios is limited to street parking only. Please be courteous when parking on the street and avoid double parking anyone’s driveway.

In the event that your child wishes to no longer continue with their lessons for any reason then we will require 4 weeks notice of class termination. if DNA Dance Studios deems a child or parents behaviour to be in breach of our rules and principles, DNA Dance Studios reserves the right to terminate the membership immediately.
